My Cajun spice blend is mild to hot depending on my mood and how much cayenne pepper I want to add. Some days I like more spicy so some days just a touch. I make this one with my herb and spice essentials in my kitchen.

I use cajun spice on veggies, slow roasts and BBQs. This makes an awesome rub or seasoning instead of salt and pepper.

I make my Cajun spice blend mild to hot depending on my mood and how much cayenne pepper I want to add. This is amazing on meats, vegetables or a spicy addition to a potato salad.

Equipment

  • Spice grinder

Instructions

Use either whole or ground spices. Both will work but I prefer whole where I can and grind them fresh.

  • Add any whole spices and the salt to your mortar and pestle or spcie grinder. Grind to a rough powder.
  • Add any pre-ground spice and give a good mix in.
  • Put this in a glass jar to use in a Cajun inspired creation.

Notes

Make this blend fresh each time for the best flavour but of you use this Cajun Spice a lot then try making a bigger batch and storing some in glass jar. This will keep for up to a year or even more if you store it well.
